Water leak in cabin?
Passenger footwheel carpet is soaking, with what must be rain water, no smell or Lilly news. Is not from road spray as not been driven. Drain hole appears clear in centre and doorseal in good condition. Anyone else suffer this and have a clue how to fix.

Certainly check your coolant before you drive it.

geoff have you got those pics of the heater motor assembly showing the blocked drain. it could be water running in from the flooded heater motor unit, getting in via the recirc ducting behind the glove box.
is the bongo parked slightly nose up.?

Re: Water leak in cabin?
While trying to troubleshoot why I have water ( not coolant) in my passenger footwell, I just noticed a jet of coolant leaking from a rubber hose underneath ( middle just in on drivers side). Look like it's coming from near the join to a box with a few other hoses ( I am a bongo novice). Is this something that can be fixed oneself , assuming the coolant all need bleeding then replaced. Is this a garage job???
Re: Water leak in cabin?
This will depend on your DiY skills.
Not a very helpful answer I'll acknowledge.
First thing is which engine do you have? The 2 ltr petrol has a self bleeding cooling system and most peeps could sort a leaking hose.
BUT - If you have the diesel or V6 the cooling system MUST be bled properly after any work. If this isn't done you will fubar the motor.
There are three videos on You Tube showing the method, and if you do use a garage make certain they are aware of the method. Don't just take thier word for it, use one recommended on here.
Hope that helps a bit.

Re: Water leak in cabin?
Thanks
It's a 2.5 diesel so off to the local bongo garage.
I will pull the MOT 6 forward also.
Thanks
Stuart

Re: Water leak in cabin?
thanks again geoff. as you could maybe see if the drain hole gets blocked the water can then drain out anyway it can which is sometimes in through the ducting of the recirc air path and into the footwell.g8dhe wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2018 11:23 am Yes the picture sequence is here http://www.g8dhe.net/bongo_images/air_fan_cleaning/
