Bongo Stereo wiring help

Post by rustyp » Sun Jan 03, 2016 5:16 pm

Hello there,

a few years back I ripped out the old stereo, fitted an ISO adapter harness and fitted another stereo from my old car.

This stereo has given up the ghost so I got hold of another stereo from a friend, plugged it in and it didn't work. Got given another couple of old stereos (known to be working) and they do not power up either, I checked the fuses and they are fine.

There are a couple of pins that do not line up from the Bongo loom to the ISO harness so I think that might be the issue, I cannot work out what the wires from the bongo are and which wires they correspond to on the ISO adaptor harness as they are completely different colour schemes and the Bongo audio wiring diagram only served to give me a headache!!!

Once I go back out to the car I will get some pics of the wiring and pins, the ones which don't line up. There is also a black and red wire on its own that runs to a separate connector. Anyone know what it is for?

My Bongo is a P-reg (98?) Diesel

Thanks, Russ

This page from the wiring manual may help, it has the ISO pin numbers beside the Mazda connections;
