Air con & mechanics

Post by BazzaBongo » Mon Jan 29, 2007 6:29 pm

Hi all - just joined after picking up my Bongo a few days ago. :D

I have noticed that the heater works well but when the air con is supposed to be on, the air is not ice cold, as I would expect. :?

BTW, I also want to get a service done - anyone know a good, honest Bongo mechanic in or around Basingstoke?

Hi BazzaBongo
Either your aircon needs regassing or you didn't turn the heater to cold.

That well-known Irishman, Frank O'Phile has got it about right. But really wanted to say what a top strap line you've got. Welcome to BF BTW.

Thx for the welcome all. (Pistonbroke  )

Found the local Mazda guy - thx for that. As for the air con, it isn't ice cold after I have turned the thermo down to it's lowest i.e 18.0

Couple of other little queries I forgot to mention; don't know what the switch to the right of the steering wheel with the green illuminated light means. Also though I have searched the manual, cannot find how to access the headlights to change bulbs.

Went to Stonehenge yesterday - couldn't help but notice some Japanese visitors looking at the Bongo with a familiar expression.

Overall, (after re-newing a couple of bulbs) been very pleased with it so far. Lovely to drive and almost everything in perfect working order. \:D/

Woa BazzaBongo. Your 'signature' says:
It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman. (Proverbs 21:19)
You been looking through my window? How true that is, but I dont regard BF as too much of a hardship, as wildernesses go 8) 8)

Hi BazzaBongo
I see that you have the automatic aircon. If you have the "Auto" button on, setting it to 18 won't produce ice cold air because it's colder than that outside. Make sure that the "Auto" button is off and push the A/C button - if you don't get cold air then, your system may need regassing.
