starting issues after fuel pump seal change
Hi, can anyone help I recently changed the front seal on my diesel fuel pump as per the fact sheet on bongofury. But doing it I didn't fully note down the order the parts came out and now I'm having issues starting, the engine turns over as normal but doesn't start and nothing is squirting out of the injectors.
So I'm thinking I haven't put the bits back in to the pump in the correct order and I can't seem to find a diagram which details what's lives in there. Is anyone able to help?
The bits I have are 2 springs 2 small washers? And 2 other parts 1 is a ring and the other is a plunger looking thing. Sorry for the rubbish description s ill take a pic tomorrow night when I have another attempt.

Thanks for this, i think looking at the pics at the bottom i think i put it in right last night. Of course all of the attempting to start has drained my battery so will try again after the charger has been on for a few hours.
Here's how i have it (done with a bit of ascii art)

if you click on the link geoff put up above, and the links in those links you should find the answers.
you may need to bleed the pump to get it to start, crack all the injector pipes at the pump end then the injector ends and it should fire up. watch for the spraying diesel cover with a rag.

Hi thanks for your reply i think i have the pump put back together as it should be but i'm not 100% sure on how to bleed the pump.
I'm pretty new to the bongo world, enjoying learning A LOT but if you could explain what you mean by cracking the various components below that would be great. Do you mean loosen them a bit or fully remove, i.e. remove the nut holding the injectors in place so they are disconnected?
I appreciate all of your help on this, i have 1 wife and 2 children eagerly awaiting the bongo starting again as we have a big adventure planned at the start of july!

Re: starting issues after fuel pump seal change
Just loosen them nuts a crack
Don't take them off
Just loosen keep spanner on
Get someone to turn engine over as soon as diesel appears at lose nut tighten while engine is still being turned over
And then do same again at next injector

Re: starting issues after fuel pump seal change
Thanks for this spent the weekend trying this, only problem is I don't think I have the right tools for the job as I can't get the nuts off one at a time at the pump end and at the injector end I can only get in to get the 2 in the right hand side.
Think its time to call in some kind of mobile mechanic. Does anyone know if there's a bongo friendly mobile mechanic in Newcastle?
