Cylinder head needed...!

Post by leenell » Tue Jun 09, 2015 4:50 pm

Hi...:)

Finally got my Bongo...(Ex Bongo Bob...Grrrrr) pressure tested.
As we thought it has a nice crack in the head...:(
We are obviously now looking for a complete cylinder head with all gaskets...it's a 2.5 diesel automatic by the way...:)

Could someone advise me where is the best and quickest place to get one from...theres some on ebay but for obvious reasons I'm keeping away from there...!!!!!

Cheers Lee... 07910325865

On a Forum the very long URL is condensed down to a short blue link ..

Just click directly on it .. saves typing as well .. !!

Just noticed...My Bongo is a 1996...it says on the ebay item that it's for 1998 - 2006...will it still be the right one...?

Ian does them in the Bongo Shop.
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.

Mine is a V6 (petrol) never had any thing to do with diesels .. so maybe an expert will be along to confirm ..

But from reading the heads are the same .. BUT .. there are slight differences between the Ford and Mazda basic designs .. meaning some parts may have to be swapped from your old head to the new ..

A proper mechanic should be able to spot / suss it out anyway ..

Scroll down to the bottom of the Bongo Fury shop for .. Contract Mechanics ..

Apparently very well thought of .. I dunno if he would travel to Hull .. but it gives you an idea of contents to change and a guide line price ..

And if it's a head for a ranger
It might not have the tee peace for bleeding the coolant
Use the old one ( make sure he puts the tee peace in and he knows how to bleed / vent the bongo cooling system ) make him watch the vids
Good price tho :D

Either order this from the club shop www.bongofury.co.uk or from www.mazdabongo.com:

Everything you need, fully warranted. You can get cheaper elsewhere, but this is the business.
