Hi All,

I put a new clock in today being looking for ages for one that would fit in the headlining I had to get it from New Zealand £21.50 including postage it seems to be of reasonably good quality build compare to some of the cheap stuff on ebay. The photos make the display look a bit funny but it isn't, I connected the permanent feed off the interior light and ran a cable to the switched + on the radio the head lining was very easy to cut with a sharp stanley knife.

I loved the look of this clock as its in keeping with the bongo dash styling and so just took delivery of one and planning to fit in the same position. Before I go at it like a bull in a china shop (as I often do) can anyone give me any tips on how to remove the interior light without damaging it or the headlining ? I just got my finger tips under it but assume it has lugs to keep it in place.

Just pull it down. You find it helps to get a couple of thin pieces of plastic (such a credit/debit cards) and insert them from either side to push in the spring lugs.

Push the light fitting hard to one side, that compress one spring, and then pull down on the other side to release it.

I think I prefer that location to wasting a useful space in the usual cubby hole.

how are the wires run up to the light unit (I know they are on the drivers side but are they in the pillar or behind the trim?) and can you access them easily, I have a clock I've been thinking of fitting for a while and this looks like the best place I've seen so far to be honest, but mine also does temperature and battery voltage so will have a few more wires to route than yourself. :)

Sorry to (re)hijack this thread but can anyone advise where on the light fitting I should take the permanent +VE feed to avoid resetting/switching off the clock every time a door is opened. Also can i take ground from the light fitting or do I need a "permanent" ground off the chassis somewhere ?

Run a wire from rear of fuse box behind the A pillar trim and tuck it in under the headlining. While you're there you might as well run and earth wire up the same route. That's what I do when I fit these:

Thanks Simon I ran ignition feed from the radio up the passenger side A pillar and should have done the same with the permanent feed from the radio at the same time
