I've got a 2003 turbo-diesel Bongo with the variable vane valve on the end of the turbocharger.
I'm getting a flashing engine warning light: my garage have checked the vacuum into the variable vane valve and it's strong; no leakage in the vacuum system.
The garage have identified a solenoid valve that's at fault: it's the solenoid that allows the vacuum to be applied to the variable vane valve via a hose. They think that the solenoid isn't getting its signal from the ECU; they reckon there's an electrical pressure sensor somewhere that goes to the ECU and moves this solenoid, and the sensor could be faulty, but they don't know where this sensor is. Does anyone know?
I've taken a photo of the solenoid, but I don't know how to insert it into this post. It's next to the passenger front wheel arch.

Re: warning light: mystery solenoid
this shows the control solenoids and pipes nearest the turbo.
http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... 2of03.html.
this is all the way back to the vac pump.
http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... 1of03.html
its all controlled via the vac and solenoids, the egr has a position sensor on it so if the ecu asks it has to be in the correct position to allow the the turbo to operate. suggest you check the egr valve position.

Re: warning light: mystery solenoid
I notice that on your supplied diagram:
http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... 2of03.html.
that there's a sensor marked 'boost sensor'; is that what I'm looking for?
Thanks,
Rocketeer

Re: warning light: mystery solenoid
looks promising but not having worked on many late ones???.
ive been looking on the drawings but cannot find where V connects too, that may give a clue to what its controlling.
