electrics help
Hi wonder if anyone can help, I fitted a Willington kit splitter and leasure battery, it all worked fine for a month until I used an electric cool box. It worked fine first couple of outings but the I had the 30 amp inline fuse on the splitter blow, I replaced fuse and it worked OK again but now I have no power to sterio, blinds, interior lights, central locking or cigarette (12volt) sockets. my problem now is that I have checked the splitter fuses and other fuses down by the right of the steering wheel and they are all fine??? Are there fuses elsewhere or is there some other problem I'm missing. Any help would be much appreciated... Thanks Colin

There are two fuses one close to each battery for the SCR if one blows then change both as the other one will be damaged. Chances are you just have a flat LB at present.

Do they have power when the van is running? If not i would suggest its either a blown fuse somewhere or a break in the cable, if they do then your leisure battery may well be dead. I would check the voltage on the battery with and without the van running to see if its being charged, you might have blown the split charge relay.

Is it a Willinton kit? I ask because his don't have any inline 30 amp fuses. His has 70 amp fuses at each battery, and then 10 and 15 amp fuses on the mini fuse box that mounts on the bulkhead under the bonnet. Also, his kit doesn't go near the central locking.

I had exactly the same thought but was in my dressing gown and didn't fancy going out to check. 30 amp will blow very readily if the leisure battery is in a discharged state, as used to happen to me with my simple Towsure VSR before the Willinton kit became available and I fitted one.Dodgey wrote:Is it a Willinton kit? Thanks for the replies guys, No the items don't work with ignition on either. I thought it was a Wellington but I guess not, the lesure battery is brand new and fully charged. I'll try changing fuses as suggeted ...are there any other fuses other than down by the steering wheel and the splitter ?? Thanks again appreciate the time you've taken in replying.

Fuse locations normally the two for charging are close to each battery, the fuses feeding the devices around the vehicle can be fitted anywhere, most common under the bonnet near the LB.
