Tailgate canopy (not awning!)

Post by roosmith » Tue Sep 02, 2014 2:48 pm

Has anyone used one of these and/or knows if they would fit a Bongo? Obviously it's designed for the T5 and doesn't appear to be available from anyone in the UK but apart from that! It would be perfect for us, as we use the back of the Bongo as a day van and could quickly peg that out to shield from the wind if boiling the kettle, or privacy if changing in the beach car park etc! We don't want or need a true "awning" and this seems to fit the bill.

Or perhaps from left field someone has already solved this problem with another solution?

I've seen pics of something similar for a Bongo but it doesn't come down to the ground which I've always thought odd.

Hmm, one that didn't come to the ground would be odd. I liked this one as it does and appears to store in a popper case on the tailgate, so you don't even have to store it.

Have you considered a PackaShack? It's more like an awning but will provide more privacy for getting changed than a glorified tarp.

Thanks Simon, we did see the packashack at the motorhome and caravan show last year but it is a bit more than we need really. Also the Reimo one, even with shipping is under a £100.
