Cam belt

Post by Lucybod » Wed Jul 23, 2014 1:18 pm

Do anybody know the recommended mileage when the cambelt should be changed on a V6 petrol 2001 reg bongo? Or has it got a chain?

There are two cam belts on the V6 ..

It pays to get the cam and crank seals done at the same time ..

The book says the cam belts should be changed at 100.000km .. but they may deteriate through age / contamination before that milage ..

It's a new import 140,000 km, will have to check to see if was done at 100,000.
If the cam belt goes it will only mess up half the engine, not like our Peugeot 406!

That's a new one. I always thought they only had one timing belt.
