Annual roof crisis - motors turn but no movement

Post by alphabetter » Sun Jun 01, 2014 2:18 pm

Well, just over a year since my last roof crisis (http://igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/view ... =3&t=61581) I have a new one. Sad 'cause I tried very hard to give it regular "exercise" over the winter.

The initial problems were the same as before. With roof closed there is beeping but no movement when the button is pressed. I tried the fix I used last year and connected a power source directly on to the motors from the 4 pin connector at the control box. With the power going direct I can hear the motors turning (probably both, but perhaps just one) but there is no movement of the roof.

Before I book a trip to see Adrian in Bury who apparently knows all about Bongo roofs is there anything else I should try at home? I don't fancy doing the whole stripping the head-lining and releasing the bolts then levering it open myself.

:(
