injector pump seals

Post by cookan » Mon May 19, 2014 5:47 pm

Hi guys,
planning to do my seals as per factsheet this week and wondered....is it possible to do one side, refit, then do backside...or do they both need to be removed simultaneously ?

thanks,
Ant.

Yes you can do the front side then do your backside.

Pay particular attention of the bits and pieces that come out of the front side.

PS it would be quite hard to do the front side and the backside at the same time.

thanks Rita, that clears it up...I wasn't sure if the front and backside were linked so felt round the back and seemed like nuts round there too.

Yup, also worried about my bits falling out of the front side which is why I wanted to know whether the job could be done taking a breather in the middle and going round the back the next day rather than trying to fit it all in in one go;-)

Yep you are quite right, all the bits that matter are on the front side, some peeps have come a cropper when they have fell/fallen out and the didn't know how they went back in.

Have a nice day.........

I found it difficult when I did the rear one in situ, if you mark the pump position you can loosen the advance and retard bolts to hopefully gain a little more room to work.
