A few pictures from this weekend - Glencoe and Arisaig

Post by mountainmummy » Sun May 04, 2014 7:56 pm

Hi

We ended up having a quick two night trip, spent the first night in The Red Squirrel and the second in the Croft, Arisaig.

Stopped on the way up to get a picture of the Freda with Buaichille Etive Mor

In the morning we took the kids up The Lost Valley (or hidden valley) in Glencoe.

Donald and Lachlann enjoyed playing on the boulders

Next we moved to Arisaig, stayed at a very basic site (no showers) but it was nice and cheap (£12) and has a lovely beach.

A good view of the Cuillin Ridge on Skye

Lachlann cooked us breakfast on our last morning (sort of)

Nice trip, nice photos.

We are off to Skye later in the month - hoping for some good midge free weather.

Very nice
Looks a great weekend

How long would it take me to driv there from Workington. ( North west Lake District )
We can see Scotland across the water from the beach

Quite often get up to the lakes
But never crossed the border into Scotland
I quite fancy a week up there next year wild camping

We went to the Highlands two years ago, kids loved, this was pre Bongo though, now we have "Perry" the Bongo its on our wishlist for touring around, such a stunning place. Nice pics and memories you have.

In *jeans*???!?

Nice trip, though... was that the same campsite where I realised I'd left my rucksack at the bottom of Ben Nevis?

Three pairs of jeans and one pair of jeggings ( on Ishbel, I'm too old and fat for jeggings)

Yep same campsite, the beach is lovely, full of shells for Ishbel and crabs for Lachann ha ha ha.

Might have been us, we were walking in Glencoe on Friday, then headed off to Arisaig mid afternoon.

Good luck with your Bongo hunt, have you been to see any yet?
