A big thank you from me and Jeanette we received the cheque today from Ian for £447.20 raised at the Stourport Bash for our charity The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Heart and Lung Transplant Fund. We have been fundraising throughout the year including us walking up Snowdon on May 18th and adding this donation we today have a grand total of £2412 to give to the fund. This fund is very important to me as most of you know I was a recipient 12 months ago receiving a double lung transplant.
Many Thanks to all who voted for my cause to be this years Charity.
The money will be put to good use 50% will go to research and 50% to go to purchase equipment for use by transplant patients.
Another big shock was for you to vote me Bongonaut of the Year, this is a tremendous honour and I feel very humbled, all I have done is try to put back into society as much as I can as I have been very lucky to have been given a second chance. Again thank you it’s a great honour.
One final note please sign up for the Organ donor register if you haven’t done so already you may save a persons life.
Bye for now Dave
