Stayed here recently for £5 per person per night, there was only me in the van and as we got there early managed to get pitches next to the river...

I thought a fiver was a bargain to be honest.

Been using Caravan Club sites for the past 3 years.. even more often now we have a shed to drag and can choose whether we use the 'van or the Bongo....HIGH season for Me, Hazel, Rachel & the dog..... inc hook up.... £25 a night, mainly on hard stand too.
Divide that for the 3 humans in the party and it's £8.62 a night each...
Low season is even better... £25....from Friday to Sunday...for us 3 the granddaughter and the dog
Not tried a CL site yet but they are even more of a bargain... I guess yer pays yer money and all that....

Hi
Mike
You MUST try CLs...cheap, quiet, and some are farms, so they're very nice for kids...We used ONLY CLs for many a year with no complaints...if you hunt around, some even have shower facilities in the farm buildings
Cheers
Helen

I put it down to more people staying in the UK on holiday instead of going abroad, as they cant afford it.
Hence the price increase.
Also have noticed the Price of Bongos has increased,

I'm with you Helen, where we live here in "SUNNY" Cornwall, we can watch deer and foxes in the fields behind us, and buzzards soaring right above our house, but I still want peace and quiet when we go camping, that is when we go on our own, if any of the 8 grandkids are with us peace and quiet goes out of the window. before being a bongo owner
i was an almost normal human bean
I've camped with various units from
push bike and plastic bag through
motor bike ;tent 2 berth to 4 berth
car + trailer :tent 4 berth to 8 berth
trailer tent
trailer tent+ Caravan (long holidays weekends)
folding camper (Pennine Pullman)
15 years ago i was paying £12 for commercial sites in south of england then:

i've been a Camping and caravan club member for 15 years and have almost exclusively used the 5 van sites and Temp holiday sites since joining. (never used the clubs sites)
for one year also a member of caravan club.

The things things that now drive my thoughts on electric hook up
even at ccc sites

on the site i have used since 99(£3.60 pun now £7) this year for the 1st time blocks of connections have been tripped out
the price (my cooking is gas hot water (bongo gas) (pennine gas/ electric) fridge 3way
some new caravans are EHU only ( requiring 2 x16A connections)

do I need this : no

Last year near Aberystwyth we paid <£5 per night pun

Talking to George (ex farmer of sheep and cows, now farmer of campers and caravan storage)
Pembrokeshire has seen lots of grief from oil spills foot and mouth to 2008 bank crash with even the big boys not being full and price suppression for several years some people have closed or changed their business (2010 almost a killer)model (inc pubs/ food outlets) the price has risen survive or die.
this may be repeated across the country.
from lean years do they sense a killing
Look at what you need and trim your cloth to suit
your choices may not be mine
I'm happy for others to pay £
or whatever it costs to provide their needs
I only want
water, elsan disposal quiet? seclusion?
The countryside will not be quiet birds/ livestock etc but different to your environment.
I'm even happier for certain colleges in work to go to Egypt and not clutter up the UK.
if he cant understand my choices: do you care? I !
