Megget Resevoir

Post by seventiesboy » Tue Jan 15, 2013 9:33 pm

Megget Resevoir is in MMM this month as part of Scotland's "secluded" Borders.
.
It looks a fantastic wild camp spot.
Anyone been there?

It has been added to my list of places to visit.
Why?...........Because somebody might wave back.

Kelso, just before the entrance to floors castle, where two rivers meet, think its the Tweed and the Teviot, sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong, anyway is a beautiful spot, lovely old town.
Peebles is also an other lovely town with great stopping spots. Some nice unique shops and pubs.

The area around Megget Reservoir is also good for hill walking. On one side is Broadlaw and on the other side White Coomb and Hart Fell, all Corbetts. Then you are not very far away from the Tibbe Sheils Inn between St Mary's Loch and Loch of the Lowes, an old drinking den of Rabbie Burns and Sir Walter Scott. Sailing is available on St Mary's Loch. All you need is to bring some good weather with you. #-o
