If it helps please see the attached picture.
This is my Bongo... it has 18"s with 205 55's and in this picture lowered from and rear using Mazda sport springs (the dayglow green one's...) Since then I had problems with puting anything in the back. I kept bottoming out on the bumpstops, so I have reverted back to Standard springs on the back.
Hope it helps..

Well if 55's fit in the hole as it were then I will get a set.
TJD--------Would you please confirm that you have experienced no fouling of wheel arches, with the 55's on.
Thanks

Titan,
Mine certainly don't foul the arches.... there are various factors that control where the wheels lie in the arch... The tyre size is one .. mines 205 x 55 x 18's One of the others is the offset. This I'm not sure of on mine.... I'd have to take one off and measure it.... One day! If your running spacers or have a strange offset could push your outside face of the tyre outwards...... Also bear in mind I have an Aero Kit ... the front bumper is, maybe slightly different. Thinking of the clearance when you turn the wheel... Not sure...
Hope this helps rather than hinders... It's just things to think of...
Someone may be along soon to confirm some of these points...
Regards

I'm running 225/50/R18s on an aero.....see piccies of Olive on a search.....
There is a slight rubbing noise on full lock which after investigation proved to be a small plastic flap....
So apart from the noise no significant issues!
Is it wrong to want a bongo for everyday of the week.....

Titan,
Mine are Continentals.... and yes they are expensive..... they last and they give superb grip.... When they wear out I'll be trawlling the internet and local tyre places for a deal........
Good luck

P-med, what year is your Bongo? And do you have any tyre clearance problems? I was looking at different sizes of tyre at work today and I think a 225/55/18 could be spot on.

Hi Toby, it's a W reg. from the year 2000. I haven't had any tyre clearance problems. I chose this size, as I thought it might help fuel economy a bit on the motorway by keeping the engine revs a bit lower for a given speed. Also, I think the wheels look too small with 45 profile tyres on 18" wheels!

Agreed. Far too much arch space with the 45s. Do you know if fitting taller tyres has improved your fuel economy? I had a Subaru Legacy I did that with. If ever there was a car that needed the fuel economy improving, it's one of those!

Have managed to win EBay auction for two tyres, was a close run thing. Oh how I love Auction Sniper.
