Hi Everyone
i have been away 2 times now with my Sebring awning and for the life of me i cant figure out how the hell you are suppossed to use the steel poles to make the awning more rigid, i know two are used for the entrance but you are the left with two other long ones and two short with strange clamps, the instructions are poor but it says they are to help in attaching it to the van i use figure 8's for the top but have trouble snuggin the sides upto the van especially once we drive off and come back all seems to go to pot?
anyone with pics or advice would be appreciated greatly.

Sebring 200 Awning Poles What do you do with them?

Once you get the awning up, if you look to the side of the awning, at head height near either entrance, you will see some velcro pockets. The long poles go in to these pockets and run the length of the awning therefore making it more rigid.

I haven't got a Sebring 200, but after following Ian's advice, are you still left with the the "two short [poles] with strange clamps"?
If so, would the advice here on Pole & Clamps make any sense of the situation?

It's a bit trial an error really!
Basically you need to work out which groups of poles make up the two poles for the side poles ( these will be the same size poles ) and which are the poles that attach to the gutter.
We found this to be a right pain, but if you sort them out they are different sizes. We've put tape on the gutter poles so we know which ones they are, as the other ones will be fine together.
Hope that help - feel free to PM me for anything further.
Cheers

Don't know if you sorted this out yet, but the side poles are the ones with the tab like ends.
2 of these have a tab at one end and a screw fitting at the other.
There are two others with just a tab at the end. These slide inside the ones with the screw giving 2 extendable side poles.
As said before, slide the tabs into the pockets, extend the poles to a suitable tension (not too tight) and then tighten up the screw.

Hi
i've bought one of these, has anyone got any pics off their awning attached to their Van? Can you use figure 8 with these? If you've used clamps, where did you get them?
Thanks
Pete
