Can youse please help with a couple of queries I`ve got re. electrics.
1) If I run my Waeco fridge off the leisure battery until its flat, will the fridge continue to draw from the main batt. until that is also flat or is there some sort of protection to prevent this happening?
2) Is the Osram Nightbreaker bulb a direct replacement for existing H4 headlamp bulb, ie how hot does it run, is it likely to melt/ make brittle existing wiring insulation?
Just booked in for second MOT, fingers crossed.

Re: Electrics
I have run my 3way fridge experimentally on my leisure battery until it was virtually flat and the starter battery was unaffected. i then charged it with a mains charger. I have a Wilington kit but it should be the same with any split charge relay.malc_s wrote:Can youse please help with a couple of queries I`ve got re. electrics.

Re: Electrics
A correctly installed leisure battery system will NOT allow anything to switch over to the Starter battery without user intervention !
Its the the prime function of the L/B system to make sure that the S/B can't be flattened!
Some systems will allow the user to select which battery to use, but it is most definitely meant to be a user choice, however some of the control panels can be very confusing.....

Re: Electrics
Running a battery, especially lead acid until its flat, will cause the plates to bend so they short out and then it will no longer hold full charge. Warm beer is better than a ruined battery.
