Post by M 80NGO » Sun Aug 19, 2012 5:38 pm

Hello boys n girls, can any of you nice people suggest anywhere to get figure of 8 channels from to connect my awning to my van, i bought some off of e bay and they were so flimsey that they broke the first time i used them . i've had a look at the kit on Go outdoors but it seems to be more than i need, if anyone uses the go outdoors kit how do you get on with it ?

Thanx, Pete.

I got mine mail order from Johns Cross. It was in three sections and it was delivered very quickly because I had left it until the last minute thinking I'd be able to get one off the shelf in Bristol.

Why don't you get them from Bongo Fury's web site £12.99 (set of 3).

Yes, he's a very nice man who runs Bongo Fury. And his well paid team of telephone operatives will be only be too happy to discuss all your camping requirements! 8)

If you can possible find a shop that sells the stuff in long strips so you can do the gutter with one piece, then I can heartily recommend it. I have figure 8s permanently in place on both rain gutters. They add a bit of interest to the trim/look of the car, they make driving on/off the awning single handed that much easier, they minimise strain on the awning connecting tunnel, and you don't get any rain drips coming down the gaps between fig8 sections. Only problem is I never seem to camp these days, so they never get used - must work on that!
