Mk5 what?
Have a look here http://www.alloywheelsinternational.com ... GUIDE.html for wheels to fit a Bongo - you need 5 stud with a PCD of 114.3 and a centre bore of 67.1. You can fit a larger centre bore, but you will need spigot rings to bring them down to 67.1.

Yep - VW will not fit.
You're mainly looking at Kia, Mazda, Hyundai, Mitsubishi and the Ford Probe.

I found 17" to be the best for reasonably priced tyre availability. You can fit 18", but the correct load tyres are harder to get. I used 225/55x17 and they made my speedo more accurate 8)
You can use this to work out the tyre sizes http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyresize.html
