AUTO SELECTOR BULB CHANGE

Post by tboy » Sun Jun 17, 2012 2:59 pm

Should be simple but you never Know with a Bongo!! Just need to change the bulb that illuminates the auto drive position PNDSL. Whats the best way to gain access? Also I found a Green wire taped off running under centre console passenger side. Any ideas please?

If this "green taped off wire" runs from the handbrake? It may have something to do with a DVD stereo unit which stops the video unless the brake is applied?
Or for a remote start unit..? Though, if it's an automatic it could run to "park" too??
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

The brake light switch is Green/Blue and does indeed feed the Audio equipment stuff.

How do you actually access the 'dash' bulb to remove it ..??

Also how does the front side light / indicator unit come out .. I have removed the top screw .. but I cannot see a bottom, one or a securing lug ..??

Remove the cowl that covers the base of the gear stick, 4 clips, and you will see it beneath the strip area (don't play with the strip its fragile!)

You might be able to get your fingers in to remove the holder, I've removed mine so as to allow the wires to plasma dislay to come out thru the hole.
You can see two of the clips in the image and two others on the other side.

I was referring to the dash mounted PRNDSL light on the right of the speedo ..

Ah in that case follow the original thread I linked to and you can see how to remove the dashboard console, and then the lamps are accessible I think from the rear as recall but it was a while ago now.

Thanks ... very informative ...

I like the Plasma dials .. I find the small inner MPH dial suck onto the middle of my KPH outer dial very confusing when glancing down approaching a GASTO ..!!
