I've got this annoying rattle coming from the sliding door when driving, which somewhat negates the £300 I've spent on improving the sound system! It's not the tools, as I've taken these out and it's still there. It seems to be coming from the general area of the automatic closing mechanism at the back of the door.
Should I take the door apart, and if so how do you do this?

Re: rattling side door
yes i would, mines more of a squeak, in the same area, ive been meaning to look at mine for 2 years, so if you find anything interesting please give me a shout as mines driving me nuts

to remove the panel.
behind the internal opening handle is a horseshoe clip, slide this off and pull the handle off, then carefully pop the top trim off(watch the clips they are very easy to break). then pull off the card.
watch you fingers in the auto close mechanism, it will take no prisoners.

Re: rattling side door
My squeak comes from some broken weld in the seat back frame on the middle row near the sliding door.. (a common problem.)
I intend to remove the table back & look into some sort of "keyhole surgery" with the use of some sort of bolts.?

Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

Re: rattling side door
Hi
One annoying rattle I have is the sliding door window....If someone doesn't clip it entirely shut, it looks shut, but rattles....Simple fix...clip it properly closed until it clicks properly
Cheers

In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.

This might help if you can savvy the instructions.P-Med wrote:I've got this annoying rattle coming from the sliding door when driving, which somewhat negates the £300 I've spent on improving the sound system! Re: rattling side door
Thanks for the tips on getting the panel off, especially the horseshoe clip tip! The panel is now off (why on earth did they use that black gunk to stick down the plastic cover?!). I'm going to tighten anything I can and cover it all with grease and hopefully the rattle will go away!
Re: rattling side door
So, I took the panel off and greased everything, put it back together again only to discover that the rattle was actually coming from the door of the safe that I installed under the rear seat!
