Auto box filter?

Changed my ATF today but I don't seem to have a filter. Does anyone have a picture of this by any chance, I seem to rmemeber seeing one a while back but maybe it wasn't on her so not actually a Bongo? What I do have interestingly is a large magnet inside the sump pan, shaped like a loittel doughnut, is sits over a slight dimple in the bottom ot the pan ust were the pick-up pipe lits the fluid and it seems to work as it had quite a bit of muck all around it but the question is, should I have a filter as well?

So is the filter inside what I would call the pick up pipe? Also I see the magnet, which I knew nothing about until today, mine looked just like the one in the picture, now cleaned and re-fitted.

Filter gauze is inside that metal 'box' and cannot be removed from it so is best cleaned using a bath of paraffin or petrol.

I was guessing that now, trouble was at the time I removed it, had a look and didn't see a filter, so I put it back on. Also removed a circular housing with a big piston above and 2 springs, nope, no filter. All bits cleaned and re fitted I came to the conclusion I must just have a magnet, which seems to actually work very well but maybe not as good as a proper filter, cheers for the replies

Hi Winniebongo,

The pick up point as you call it, is the filter housing,you have to unbolt it from the casing.Owing to the fact that you can not see inside of the housing to see if the filter has been properly cleaned it is advisable to change the filter unit.
