We had to recently remove the radio due to the electric kept tripping ...since then everythings run fine until today!
Is there any way to bypass the immobilser? ..i also have a peugoet 306 and the keycode box is disconnected, is there any way to remove the immobiliser???

What state of affairs was the radio wiring in when the radio was removed....? Would you say it looked a little "botched up"?

...I'm thinking the two maybe linked..?? & yes it should be possible to bypass the immobilizer loom..!

When you say it kept tripping do you mean blowing the Fuse ? If so which one, there are two fuses that power the radio, and its quite likely that the Immobilser will use the permanent feed itself which is this one, so it might be worth checking it;

I was wondering if it was the radio permanent live "memory setting" fuse..?

Toastedfrog, does yer cabin lights come on when you open the door...? Do the cabin courtesy lights work at all..??! (On the same circuit.)

Yup it powers most things that need a permanent supply, however I think the only thing the ECU uses the permanent supply for is to remember the last error number, but don't quote me on that :cry: Not having seen a circuit for any of the ECU's I'm only guessing!

I'm pretty certain when i pulled that fuse & forgot to replace on a "project" not only did i loose radio memory settings & cab lights, when the engine was running the glow plug light flashed too..! Or maybe it was the hold light..?

I personally would be looking at what's causing the short with the radio to start with....
Is there anyway you can check the state/charge of the starter battery..?

the radio was removed last saturday, and has been used daily since then, up until this afternoon ..how would i go abt working out what could have been tripping the sterio?
when the fuses were blown it effected the glow plug light (contiually flashing) the doors open light, the internal lighting, and central locking. it then stopped the alternator from charging the battery ...leadin me to be jumped started ..until the radio was removed!

Look for dodgy wiring connections bare wire/s on the loom leading to the radio in the din slot/place where the radio goes...? :idea: :arrow:

Was it just a head unit, or do you have an amp fitted too..? With all that sub bass stuff..!
