The Big Bash Auction

Post by Harry » Mon Mar 21, 2011 8:31 pm

Yes folks - its back - official.

After last year's success raising over £400 for Kendal Mountain Rescue Team (my nominated charity), Ian has kindly agreed that there will be another auction this year.

Profits will go to another nominated charity and Ian has agreed to nominate one via a poll (to follow).

All items offered must be either Bongo related or Camping related.

There are two types of auction lot:

1: Donated items from which all the proceeds will be given to the charity.

2. Sellers lots - from which 10% of the selling price will be deducted and given to the charity.

Registration and viewing of lots will take place during the day on Saturday.
Auction will take place on Sunday morning before the AGM.

Buyers will pay £1 for a buyer's number which will be donated to the charity.

Reserve prices must be registered before the auction.

Full details of times, rules etc will be announced in the distant future.

If you have any questions please politely post on this forum topic or PM me.

See you there.

Please vote in the link above for your chosen charity.

Please consider the lesser known charity,.."The RP society" (retinitis pigmentosa) we have a few members/forum users who are affected by this condition. Fundraising is always difficult when compared to the "bigger better known" ones. This is a chance to help research into finding a cure for this incurable (at the moment) eyesight problem.

Thanks for reading this....now cast your vote

Hi

We have a Bongo rear kitchen unit which we will be putting in the auction as a sellers lot. We got it second hand from the chap who sold us our unconverted van but never got around to fitting it. It is complete with 12V fridge, sink with submersible pump, two ring stove, 240V breakers, 240V AC-12V DC transformer and gas bottle storage box. Ive tested the fridge and that works a treat, haven't tested the mains electrics though but were told that it was all in good order. Tim

Lots of lots keep rolling in.....don't miss out on some real bargains.

Registration of lots is on Saturday afternoon (see bash info sent to participants) at the main marquee. Secure overnight storage available.

If you are going on the trip on Saturday afternoon you can also register lots before the auction starts on Sunday morning.

If you want further info please come and find me. I'll be in/around my cream/green Lunar Clubman caravan, probably around the North West peeps down near the river. I drive a dark blue Renault Kangoo  .

Well peeps...another great result

Thanks must go to:

My lovely assistants Chell and Baz without who I'd never have managed.
All of you who either donated items or paid the extortionate commission.
Everyone else who purchased buyers cards or simply came to watch.
The idiot who gave me grief a 12.30 on Sunday morning whilst on Security resulting in a sleepless night and a less than slick performance as auctioneer later that morning.

We raised (including a couple of top up donations) an amazing £600 for the nominated charities.

Hopefully see you all again next year.

I'm holding the money, Haydn. £360 is for retinitis pigmentosa. Do you want me to send you a cheque?

Other amounts raised were £180 to British Red Cross, and £60 to the Woodland Trust. These will be sent direct to the charities concerned. Well done everyone one, especially Harry!! =D>
