Yup, that Fuse 10Amp, does Air-Con (1 of 4 fuses), Switches the Rear demister (1 of 2 fuses) and also if you have the Sonar sensors for distance it covers that as well.

As to going up behind the Dash then its much more likely that he has picked up the wrong circuit as the Dashboard is on the IG1 circuit as you need that powered during Starting itself, there is a Black/Yellow wire which provides the power to one of the three connectors for the Dashboard and hence the problem. He obviously hasn't thought about what a L/B charging relay needs, but knew that he would find a fused supply to the Dashboard there which came on with the Ignition, however you don't want the L/B trying to help the S/B run the Starter Motor which wants several hundred Amps when it is first connected!

As to the blowing fuse with the Fog lamp, is this the rear fog lamp switch ? The front Fogs have there own connector and switch in the wiring loom (if fitted), whilst rear fogs are an add-on and hence tend to have connections as chosen by who ever fitted it - which means they can be any colour and fitted well or poorly #-o

Just got back from the auto-electrican [-o<
Insisted they remove the relay and refund me...absolutely no chance they said!
They wanted me to book the van in so they could check the electrics, send off the relay for testing and sort of implied the fault might be with my baby Bongo.

When I mentioned the lack of 2nd fuse (between relay and LB) and wiring to the wrong ignition circuit it got a little heated. :?

The guy that removed the wiring was OK and almost 'seemed' to sympathise with me.....even agreeing that something wasn't quite right :o

10 mins later they offered a refund. :D

I'm now gonna get a Willinton kit as life's too short!! =P~

A massive thanks to all those that helped and particularly Geoff for his continued patience and taking the time to post all those images, you too Eric for the PM and email. =D>

I must say I think that's the best solution you've chosen.

I'm not sure what qualifications are recommended for Auto-Elec's but I've come across several now since owning a Bongo that leave a lot to be desired, that's NOT saying that all Auto-Elec's are poor but like in all unregulated industries that its very difficult to identify the qualified from the un-qualified or those who take the short cuts. I know I wasn't impressed with what had been put into our Bongo, but having an electrical / electronic background with plenty of practical experience It was easy to sort out, but without that its another case all together.

By the way the diagrams are all on-line, just see the details here for access and what's what http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... =3&t=36657
