Silicone Hose feedback
I am getting a few calls recently and more since the cold weather........Most of them state "I am losing coolant and have to keep topping up, I have fitted silicone hoses in the past 12 months. I don't seem able to find a leak......Should I try a set of NORMA clamps or bin the hoses and go back to the factory ones "
Can any of you out there who have silicone hoses fitted.....have had coolant loss and fitted NORMA clamps let us know if they solved the problem.........I don't want to be selling somthing that is not doing the job it was bought for..
Any feedback will be very helpful to quite a few owners.

Re: Silicone Hose feedback
Our Bongo has a full set of silicone hoses fitted in June 2008 which have occasionally suffered from coolant loss.
They were originally secured with good quality jubilee clamps,i replaced them with the Norma clamps(thanks Haydn)in September this year.
So far(including the recent cold weather) we have no further coolant loss.

Re: Silicone Hose feedback
Thats exactly the feedback I am looking for.....so the NORMA clamps seem to do the job....
Re: Silicone Hose feedback
I have the full set, the bleed pipe hose on mine was too loose, so it was leaking, but hard to spot as the water vapourises!. I put the original bleed pipe back on, and all is fine. I am using the original mazda clips, except for the pipe going to the rear heater matrix, the pipe was slightly too thick, so jubliee clip used there.
2 years and fine..

We have full set of silicone hoses. Still have jubilee clips on and have had leaks. Most stopped now but still have a leak on one of thin hoses under van behind drivers door.

Barry you did follow BDC methods and parts on those hoses and he would only do things on wheelquick's advice...Barrington wrote:I have the Big four silicone ones on mine, been 12months now with standard jubliee clips not had a problem as yet with leaks![]()
