Hi All,
I got may Bongo back last Friday. (it would have been ready sooner, but we were away on holiday last week)
All seems fine, the box is shifting up/down smoothly (as it use to do)
The garage also confirmed that the mileage looked genuine. (apparenetly they can tell when they get inside the box)
i need to take it back in 6 months or 6000 miles to get the gerabox oil changed .... which i'll definitly be doing
hopefully, i won't have any further big bongo bills!
cheers
Rob

Great news Rob and hope thats the end of it. You had a rare and v. expensive bit of bad luck there - I can only sympathise.mad as cheese bongo man wrote:Hi All,

Re: gearbox
Hi our 99 Bongo also had the gearbox go. Carvers also rebuilt ours. Had the impression they got parts from Japan. They charged about the same money and did a good job. This was in May 2008 and its not given any trouble since. Think your bongo will be fine. Trish
