wanted photo of sliding door 'microswitch' location

Post by Bombadilo » Sun Jan 24, 2010 11:01 am

hello folks,

my interior light works fine when set to 'ON' but when set to 'DOOR' and the sliding door is opened it does not come on.

i assume there is some kind of switch mechanism or microswitch that has stuck or come loose.

has anyone a piccy that will point me to the location.

cheers

Its halfway up the door opening on the right hand side - between the rubber and the shut line if that makes sense.
Its just a simple push pin that makes an earth connection when its released (ie the door is open). If its a bit corroded or mucky, just push it in and let it flick out a few times - this should clean the contacts a bit...failing that, only 2 small bolts and you can remove it an give it a proper clean.

all sorted.

it seems it wasn't earthing correctly.

a bit of WD 40 and a scrape with a screwdriver to remove a chip of paint seems to have done it.

with the leisure battery, new home made battery tray and split charger relay now also in place,

next weekends job will be to fit an inverter behind the glove compartment.

cheers
