valves for jap wheels?cant get any fitted!!...as yet

Post by chipvan » Sat Jul 25, 2009 11:06 am

We had some flush fit valves on the wheels when we picked it up.

Thought we could get an adapter so we could get air in...but they are all different

So went today to get some car type valves fitted, but they didnt have anythihng that would fit the holes, they did have jap ones they didnt fit ...

anyone else had any of these problembs??

if i cant get the right valves will need some new wheels..surely it cant be that bad???

Where did you take it? have you tried Bathwick tyres? the Weymouth guys have usually been able to come up trumps with any problems I've had, usually at a good price too. If you tried any of the usual high street monkey sanctuaries ie K**k F*t, I wouldn't be surprised if they couldn't sort you out.

I took it to a place called pro tyre in poole, they said they had jap size valves but the sizes they had were slightly too small and couldnt get a seal on it.

Someone has said mike stokes in bmth,i called him asking if he ever has any problems with jap wheels and fitting valves ,he said no we can sort it....

think they do sell loads of wheels and pimp stuff.

or could bathwick poole sort it?

got it cracked now thanks for your help guys!

went to mike stokes, after callingthem to ask if there would be a problem and them saying no problem there was, waited 30 mins for them to take wheel off and say no we cant do it.

poped into see my mate at ats poole(old school mate)he gave me some metal valves.

I them went back to pro tyre with another set plus the ones they got on order, and bingo the ones my mate gave me fitted so we are all sorted.

Was also told by a frienly chap at bathwith ferndown that the size i ahve is real rare(10mm i think)

phew job done jez
