Disconneted lead next to the battery?

Post by Betty Bongo » Wed Jul 29, 2009 4:05 pm

Just popped the bonnet to have a proper look and there is a lead encased in blue plastic attached to the body work just above the battery but the other end does not have a fitting and not attached anywhere, where does it belong?

Your thoughts much appreciated.

How many batt's has your Bongo? might be two, so you have the northern winter pack and it could be the extra if it's on the left, usefull for convertion to a leisure batt

Only one battery fitted and the lead is the length that it should be connected to something to do with the battery.

Hi & welcome Betty Bongo--besides your main battery is there another battery tray with no battery there-- just below your coolant level filler ??????????

No second battery tray under the coolant. The lead is only 30cm long and is on the drivers side next to the battery.

Well its an earth connection given that its bolted to the chassis! If everything is working OK, then I'd remove it, its been added since the Bongo was made, possibly someone had an external connection to the battery in the past.
