Hi fello Bongo people. We have recently bought a Bongo but cant work out what the switch is to the right of the steering column and to the right of the rear internal fan switch. It has a picture on it like an engine with a propellor on top??!!
Also, we have read the interesting idea for changing to bigger wheels on the 'Improving MPG fact sheet. Does this make good sense and what bigger wheels would slot straight on? Mazda 6 wheels we heard rumour of. Thanks. Jacqui & Paul.

Right of the stearing column is probably the rear fog light. The other may be a corner guide (little guide that pops up from the front left bumper area)??? I know nothing about wheels.

Welcome Ferrett.

You have the twin battery Winter Pack under the bonnet. Theres a switch that opens up some sort of gubbins involving the exaust gasses to help start/warm up the engine in temperatures of around minus 15.

Best left alone in the UK, otherwise it runs like a bag of spanners & there's always a chance that it may become stuck open.

Mazda 6 wheels are fine but the standard tyres will need to be replaced. They're not strong enough to take the weight of a 2 ton van.

As mister munkey said, you have the cold climate (twin batteries) bongo and this switch activates the engine 'rapid warm-up' as described.

Hi,

Regarding the wheels RX8's are a popular choice.

Mind you, TBH I have found my MPG to have dropped by a massive 1 MPG since the swap, diameter is exactly the same as before so it could be increase in weight or as they are wider more wind/rolling resistance than before.
