reversing light

Post by Aethelric » Wed Feb 04, 2009 9:03 pm

I had a slight reversing incident, and have broke the reversing light lens - is this all part of the rear indicator cluster?

Sounds like a job for the lens repair tape that's been mentioned before.

halfords have the repair tape, white ,amber and red. good enough for a temporary job and to stop water getting onto the bulbs.

thanks folks. The light is not so much cracked as smashed to bits.
I'll check with Harry right away.

In my local cheapy shop they sell lens repair stuff but it looks like its kinda stiff rather than just tape, should cover a hole for now?

I have used a cut up pop bottle before with the lens tape over the top for larger discrepancies   and for a considerable time whilst awaiting my father outlaws to cough up the reddies to pay for it along with a rear 1/4 panel he decided to leave on the side of a lorry, most of the rear 1/4 was silver gaffer tape i only wish i had a foto to show you :!: :!:  looked alright at a quick glance 8)

Dar not so very bitter

Keep hold of a few old quality street wrappers... They "self stick" to the bulbs when they get hot, and work well as a temporary repair till a new light lens can be sourced. (no good with your plight i know Aethelric... :? )
