my bongo always went like a rocket on diesel or veg oil before :D

another symptom for those contributing is there is also a noise like when you have the air blower full on that seems to be coming from around he passenger dash, when you try to accelarate hard

cheers for the info so far

I haven't removed a Bongo pump but done others - the pump mounting is slotted for adjustment isn't it? With a tolerance of 0.05mm allowed I'd be hard pushed to see that accuracy with my eye on the marks :?

PS - just read your post para - is there a turbo pipe loose or disconnected??

That sounds like the turbo boost leaking - check you haven't loosened a hose and are dumping all your boost to the open air.

A Non-turbo Bongo would go very much like your description of how yours goes.

Another thought did you make sure you replaced the turbo boost compensation tube that connects the turbo to the injector pump so that the pump knows to increase fuelling when the turbo pressure starts to build up.

Without that the engine only gets more air - not the more air AND fuel that it needs.

thanks for all the ideas, i had a look today and found the large bore rubber pipe which connects to the exhaust manifold had completely come off which explains the lack of turbo. took it for a quick spin and all seems back to normal, watch out boy racers

=D> Nice one, simple solutions are always the best :D
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
