Roof Staying Up

Post by serge » Wed Sep 17, 2008 1:37 pm

Hi all

This is my first post as a Bongo owner, so please be gentle with me!!!!

I have recently bought a Bongo with a full Westward conversion and I love it ( the wife is warming too!)

At the weekend I was showing off my new purchase to a group of friends and amidst a chorus of 'ging-gang-goolie' was showing how the roof worked, when the roof failed to come down to the amusement of my audience. I tried a few times, and after a little tug on the roof the motor kicked into life ( I don't think my friends noticed the look of panic on my face)

Is this a common feature, or is there a miraculous cure with such a thing as WD40, or is there simply an art to it?

As a point of interest, the roof always stops half way down, I have to take my finger off the button and start again. Is this an indication of the problem, or is it in the design?

Your help would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks

Serge

Hi Manda & Andy

What kind people you are, my wife was asking what the little step was for, I will impress her when I show her it turns into a Blue Peter chair!!!!....and on top of that, I now know why the roof stops half way down......DOH, I am a bit slow sometimes

If anyone still has any advice on why my roof froze in the up position, it would be greatly appreciated

Great Vid there

Cheers

Mine got stuck twice when I first got it. No reason could be found and it eventually worked - I put it down to lack of use as I never had any more problems.
