Torchwoods 40mpg

Post by sparkymik » Fri Apr 18, 2008 10:25 am

Hi All
thought I would make a change to our Bongo and go ahead with this oil change as per Torchwoods recommendation, the oil in ours was looking black and old, for using 5w30 A1 syntheitic oil, it did seem an expensive oil on Halfords but found it for sale in ASDA 2 ltrs £13-46 so purchased 8 ltrs 2 for top up 6 for the change, got a filter for my local Happy Motoring store in Ringwood they found and phoned same morning a filter off the list provided on Bongo Fury £10-00 so we are good to go made the change to the 5w30 made quite a difference from the outset engine is quieter runs very smoothly, I did take note that maybe this is not for older engines mine has 80k clocked up but if anyone is thinking of doing the same ASDA is cheap for 5W30 A1 Magnatec, there maybe cheaper out there ( is'nt there always) but I'm very happy for the mo' :D

The thing is with diesel oil it will turn black within a week or so, that is just how it goes so colour is not really a good indicator, I change my oil every six months, I have found the oil sold in Lidl of all places to be really good stuff. Happy motoring.
