Daft Q on Interior Trim Panels

Post by apole » Fri Feb 08, 2008 12:13 pm

Hi,
This maybe a daft question but the panels that are in the front footwells that cover the electrics (i.e. outer side) on my Bongo are both loose.

Does anyone know how they clip in and if it's possible I have clips that could be broken. Prefer to ask first before pulling them out further and making a mess !!

Thanks

Andy

Not a lot holds these in. A plastic lug goes into a recess at the front and the door seal holds it at the back from memory

Hi,

I removed the drivers side panel a while ago to work on the alarm buzzer. I didn't know how it fitted and so broke the removable plastic rivet that holds it down that's hideen under the side of seat / step panel. After that the whol panel was "loose"

To remove it without damage - first remove the side of seat / step panel by removing the two small removable rivets just at the side of the seat (under the carpet) and then lever it up vertically, there are clips under the step tread and under the lip that goes over the foot well carpet. As long as you ease the whole thing up vertically they shouldn't break.
This exposes the larger removable rivet at the bottom of the side panel (the one I broke  ). The door side of the panel is just held under the rubber sealing strip and the rear is supported with a long plastic pin fixed in the bulkhead panel.

Good luck
