The Maplin kit needs a modification before it will do it's stuff in the Bongo. The IC 555 timer can't cope with more than 15volts and needs a zener diode in the circuit to prevent overload. It's a very simple addition but without it the chip will be knackered the first time the charging circuit squirts in too many volts. It's also very much easier to tap in to the wiring loom on the wiper stalk than to try and connect it up into the tailgate.
If anyone needs a few more details then let me have a PM and I'll check the colour codes for the stalk connections and try and describe the overload protection more clearly.
Once it's all fitted it works very well and even gives you a choice of 3 wiping delay speeds.
