Front interior lights

In my quest to swap as as many lamps as possible with LED's, I'm stuck on the front interior lamps. I can see four marks on the lense which look like the area to be sticking something in to lever, but have had no luck with them. I have already marked the roof, when the screwdriver slipped. How do you get the B****Y lense off?

the whole unit pulls down from the roof its held in by spring clips you get to the bulbs from behind.

Broke my fingernails getting mine off.
The spring clips are at the sides and engage into the metal of the roof.

I replaced mine with LEDs but they looked a bit blue and were not really very bright.

try sliding it off this worked for me!!!

NeilT did mine (and the LEDS look great - a bit blue but MUCH brighter) and got the cover off in seconds (he'd worked it all out when doing his). Neil, if you are reading this can you chip in with you halfpence worth

Just bought some LED "bulbs" in an MR16 format - the 12V 50mm dia downlighter type of thing.

20 LEDs, 30 lumen, 1.5W, supposedly white but the colour temp is 8000 which is verging on blue.

Very disappointing, the light is just too "cold" to use in the spotlights in the Van.

I have tried various LEDs that are described as white but in reality are blue.

I have not yet found anything that remotely looks like warm white.

Theres me, trying to get the lense to come away from the black frame surround

I did notice that the rear interior LED light has a blue tint to it. I can handle Blue no problems, being a Bluenose.

As a matter of interest what is the advantage of LED lights? Is it a camping thing to reduce the drain on the battery? Are LED lights expensive?

I use them in torches because they last for ages but otherwise they never seem as good as normal bulbs. I saw someone try a few on a motorbike but they weren't as visible so he swapped back.

@boragongo, I'm on a similar quest, currently changed front interior bulbs for blue, boot light for colour changing and side lights.

I tried to change number plate bulbs last night and only managed to blow the fuse top marks to BongoFury again with fact sheet on fuses

So would it be possible between all who have been changing to LEDs to come up with a definitive list of which bulbs fit which light both interior and exterior.

Need to get some spare fuses before I try any more but will continue with quest very soon.

Gotta say my front cab is MUCH brighter with the LEDS, and I can use that. The power saving thing is a bonus. I would prefer a warmer light, but its all a compromise

I have the same LED's as you &neil have mike,they are much brighter than the candles that mazda fitted...the lower power consumption is a benefit too

The technology is not yet capable of creating a true white light,this is why there is a blue hue (not boo hoo ) to the LED's.
