Removing a 626 Speedo

Post by Slybacon » Fri Sep 21, 2007 8:41 pm

I'm off to a breakers tomorrow to get a 626 speedo for my Bongo (hopefully due in Nov from BJ4). Does anyone have any tips on removal so that I don't look too stupid in the breaker's yard?

I'm going to try and get a fog lamp switch too - I reckon that will be fairly easy to remove though.

A philips screwdriver is all you need .It is a doddle .Remember to remove and take the clear perspex panel The trip reset thingy is a little bigger than the Bongo one and it saves the hassle of drilling out the hole ( big risk of making a hash of this cos it splinters even if taped)
The whole caboodle cost me a tenner

I found the 626 speed can be removed in a few minutes there is a thread on how to reset the mileage and it`s easy to do - if you get the rear fog light switch -if thats the one your after remember to get about 6-9 inches of the wiring coming out of the back to wire it in. It`s easy to do but if you need more info you can pm me as i`ve done mine. Ian. :)
If I had all the money I ever spent on my Freda ............ I`d spend it on my Freda.

Thanks Ian for the tip on the 6-9 inches of wire out of the rear fog switch. I'll pm re connections, I'm presuming you need to run a fresh wire to the rear fog once fitted - or is there cable there already? Andrew

The cable should already be there if you have an after market switch fitted you splice into it - i`ll tell you more in the pm. Ian.
