Sincere apologies, and it seems I let slip also that your model is the Bongo Specifica (a rare version, made for the Italian market)bigdaddycain wrote:Mike, can please stop quoting part of my reg numbermikeonb4c wrote: just ahead of hte engine bay, whose specifica purpose is to purge hot air out of the engine bay.![]()

It'll be that s/s exhaust you fitted to it. Yes, the name was chosen because it sounded a bit like the Toyota Estima, whose market dominance it was intended to challengebigdaddycain wrote:![]()

I quite like the sound of a bongo specifica actually...

I thought the specifica was the one with the Bertone styling.
Or was it Pininfarina....

Wasn't the pinifarina a snack for the incredible hulk? Or was that a Ferigno panin?

I think you guys are mixing these models up with the Ferrero Rocher, which came out alongside the Ferrari Testosteronarossa and which was similar, but had a sweeter engine noise and was intended to capture the market for sporty females who liked the throaty roar and the feel of a big bit of equipment with lots of ooomph but delivering a sweeter package than what you tended to get out of a Testosteronarossa

Didn't Zack de la Rocha order a testarossa? But it bankrupt him and he turned into a dosser?mikeonb4c wrote:I think you guys are mixing these models up with the Ferrero Rocher, which came out alongside the Ferrari Testarossa

I thought bertone was a cheap and cheerful brand of am/fm car radio from the 70's? or was that binatone?

Well, you did ask....bigdaddycain wrote:Top work that man!jaylee wrote:Yep! That's what i fitted... Basically picking up on Mikes (Mikeonb4c) idea for a scav fan override switch.. I basically took a feed to power some led's if & when it ever came on..
I tapped into the same live wire (green/yellow) Going through the rubber membrane where the drive shift thing goes trough under the glory hole following the accelerator cable to where the 2 wires for the scav fan split from the main loom..
Then making a small hole just where it splits at the main loom i ran the wire down inside the loom cover to the bottom where it was easier to tap into the wire just above the connector to the fan & taping the whole thing back up like it never happened...!![]()
Lucky i have an inspection pit, you really need to get the vehicle up off the floor in order to get at it...
I fitted a blue led to flash for the alarm, & some reds in a faulty gutted plasma dial that the gauge company didn't want back during a replacement... (left hand gauge in the glory hole cover.) Now the reds light up when i lock momentarily (about 4 seconds) off the second channel of the mirror fold module then the blue alarmed light flash takes over...
I also have another fake alarm led pulse box in line with the red leds, which is what causes em to flash if the scav fan comes on..!![]()

I think my scav fan has kicked in maybe 5 times in as many years jamie, yet i still want to do a similar mod myselfUp for a bit of a brain picking at the big bash mate?
The big bash...!!? I haven't booked yet.. Or even sorted any time off.

I hope your not planning to send me up into yer engine bay...!!
Cuz even with my small frame i found it a little claustrophobic..

Re: Scavenger fan warning light.
Just to report.. A few weeks back i went to Suffolk.. After a four hour drive to the in-laws we stopped for a pit stop.. (Actually a cheeky fag.) it was a ruddy hot day & waiting for the glow plug light to go out, then starting the engine the scav light came on (indicating the fan was running) briefly, then as i pulled away it went out.... Haven't seen it light since... Well worth the effort!!
