This is an odd one, and I hope someone who understands electrics can help.
Took the bongo in for MOT today and the dipped beam light just faded out to a glow (not off)in seconds to a dull glow. Full beam is OK.
I did take out an old Japanese aftermarket alarm a while ago but that didn't require any wires to be cut.
Really got me scratching my head.
Hope someone may have suggestions.
Regards
Tris

				Its possible that the headlight
connectors are damaged, the original ones are well known for corroding, then overheating and failing alltogether. If so new ones can be bought from Ebay which are all
ceramic and don't suffer this problem see here

There is system fitted in Japan that dims the dipped beams when in slow traffic. I think it's something to do with all the smog they get over there. Typically there would be an extra switch somewhere to control it. Perhaps this has just been knocked or pressed when they tried to find the switch for the rear foglight?

Thanks for the replies, it turned out to be the switch! One less thing on the fail sheet. Learn something new every day with a Bongo.
The curious thing is that the lights came back on when the indicators were on, sort of the reverse of daytime running lights on new cars.
Thanks,
Tris
