Having to miss this years Bash :-(

This is the largest gathering of Bongos anywhere in the world and takes place at our spiritual home, Stourport on Severn 20 to 25 June.

Having to miss this years Bash :-(

Post by mikeonb4c » Mon Jun 04, 2012 9:59 am

Dear All

With much sadness, I’m going to have to cancel my booking for this year’s Bash. I’ve been asked to attend a family reunion with cousins from far off shores and it has been planned for that weekend. I can’t really duck it and given our advancing years, I shouldn’t want to. But I shall miss my annual visit to the banks of the River Severn, in such good company. I've delayed the decision for weeks, such was my frustration at the clash of dates. My best wishes to everyone I was looking forward to meeting again, not least the Muzes, really good friends and neighbours every time I come to the Bash.

I promise to be back next year.

Hope it all goes well (when does a Bash not go well ha ha).

Best wishes

Me too and you've no idea how much. I love the Bash, and had been looking forward to it for months. Really terrible timing

Double bummer. I was v sorry I missed you last year, and now this. But i'm still a 100% committed Bongo man. Just hardly seem to be managing any camping or Bongo meets. Kids no longer interested and i'm in need of a willing partner. I'm on the case mind you ha ha ;-)

Maybe next year!

Good luck with the willing partner .... check they like wet grass, biting insects and lumpy beds!

Indeed! I'm finding girlies (of my age) who are up for Bongo camping are not that common. They don't seem to mind being driven round in one though, which is a start ha ha :-)

Now, as you know Mike I'm a simple country boy, but why not suggest the family pop down to Stourport for a day or so?

Bet they won't want to go back. :D

Shame you are not going to be at the Bash this year Mike, but sometimes things can "overtake" what we really want to be doing and also sometimes something's Have to be done.....

Shame, I'll not get to meet you once again. Last time I was about to come and say hi when I was visiting the Muz's but you were changing and I thought best not to

Maybe next year I'll get to meet you and thank you in person for the advice you first gave me when our first bongo was causing me heartache :)

I can't make it either Mike. I'll be in Copenhagen next weekend on a Top secret mission but maybe we can sort out our own Mini Big Bash later in the summer - Tan Hill perhaps . . . ?
