Chinese Lanterns Banned at The Bash

The big one! Once again we are at Stourport in June with live bands, catering, an excursion, the AGM etc.....and over 300 Bongos munching grass contentedly on the banks of the River Severn.

Just had a text from the BongoMeister, Lickhill have banned the use of Chinese lanterns this year following a barn fire.

They have also fallen on electricity substations, where their wire frames have caused a flash-over and interuption to the electricity supply to thousands of electricity users.

Good. They do more harm than most people realise.

Modern day equivalent of fireships.

Probably derived from some ancient Chinese weapon of mass crop destruction.

Its such a shame that the Health & Safety Brigade have so much clout these days.

I may well stay in bed for the next 50 years, just to be on the safe side.

Anyone got a large tub of bed-sore cream.

Unfortunately these days..Health and safety has moved away from common sense and experience into where there's blame...there could be a claim....so it is a case of cover your a**e in the event of anything that could go wrong and could it have been prevented...?

I won't have a rant about if H&S had been around when I was a kid but most people here will know what i mean... =D>

Careful there Mister Munkey, statistically more people die in bed than any where else. That doesn't sound a very safe place to me

I can send you some anti thromboletic stockings to help prevent deep vein thrombosis if you are lying around in bed that long :D
