Camping near Haworth (out of season)

Post by spud350 » Sat Dec 19, 2015 8:52 pm

So on past Christmas Eves I've been away and camped at Upwood site just outside Haworth. Walked into the village and had meals and drinks and an all round nice time.
They charge for 2 nights minimum on bank holidays which was a bit of an ask at Xmas when no one else was camping but still I paid for 2 nights staying the one.
Now they charge 3 nights minimum which may be fine at Easter but at Xmas?!?

So I'm not willing to do that but can't find another local site (it has to be within walking distance). Anyone know of anywhere (even wild camping) that I could use outside Haworth.

If not I've seen a little car park just outside Slaidburn. Has anyone give that a go?

Cheers Spud.

Might be worth asking one of the pub landlords/ladies if you could stop over in the carpark in exchange for meals and drinks.

2 mins down the road is the old pondon mill site, there was talk of them doing camping etc.

Can't believe I've been to yours and not realised I was so close. #-o Must have got there a different way. It was to late to call last night but I've seen there is a site at pondon mill which is only 3 miles away. Unfortunately it looks like it closes over winter although it maybe worth a quick call.

Yes but they're nearly all closed over winter and there aren't that many within walking distance. Upwood was ideal really, shame about the rip off price/"rules".

Agree with the pub suggestion, but likely to be more successful asking face-face.

C&C club certificated (?) sites - the little ones that can only take a handful of units.
