Campsite maps - help wanted from campers using google maps

Post by Matt&JoyBongling » Sun Oct 21, 2012 10:01 pm

I am putting together a map of some of the campsites that we have used this year - locating them on Google Maps. I wonder if it would help other Bongoliers that want to plan their trips. If you have sites that you could add, please PM me your email address so that I can add you as a collaborator and we can try it out.

I've added 2 for the UK and several for France. More to follow if this works out.

The map address is called Bongo Campsites: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&m ... 8ed41d1148

Thanks. I'll get in touch with them to see if I can add the ones on my version to theirs. I wonder if we can get some more contributions for UK camp sites.

You just need to sign in to google maps, which is why he gives the details;
Userid: [email protected]
password: mazdabongo

Clock on "My Maps", select the maps one by one and click "Collabrate" and then invite yourself to the map. Logout, and sign in back in under your normal Google account, click "My Maps" and you should then be able to edit the maps yourself from your own account.

Thanks. I've done that - just want to see if he / she is happy for me to add my maps using KML export / import. I have not done that before but if it works, it might make it faster for others to share their camp site locations etc.
