Open mic live band session

Post by andyh » Tue Apr 29, 2008 2:05 pm

Those of you who have read the Bash programe will have spotted that we are playing on Friday night - Now as this is for the love of it, we would like to invite any musician to come and join us (vocalists/guitarists/harmonica/ even fiddlers! etc etc etc etc) to join in the fun - I have this marvelous bit of kit that runs lyrics with key/chords so we can play along - it means anyone can choose from a list of 2500 songs and we will have a go at playing it! Of course we will play lots of songs we do know but in between it would be a huge laugh if people came prepared to join in the fun (and well in keeping with the 'up for anything' spirit of the forum and bongo owners generally) We will bring a complete backline, proper job pa, mixers, several vocal mics, a few spare guitars, full stage lighting (to make us look good) and whatever else I can fit in the van to make it an entertaining evening of music - and although RocknRoll is our thing we have been known to play anything from Frank Sinatra to Take that so open to any requests!!

I know from this forum that a few guitarists and singers are out there...all we need is a few beers and an audience and I reckon it will be a real giggle.. I can see the videos already!!!.....

So who's up for it!!? Any requests??

If you can play "Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town", I'll sing it to the adoring public!

Hi
Thinking of bringing up a bingo machine for a laugh. Neil as caller (fun bingo) used to work in Ibiza as a caller! We also have a karoake machine if you have the amplifiers there?

I stand corrected Neil was in Benidorm not Ibiza and it's speakers not amplifiers needed. Just before he corrects me.

Gutted that we can't HYMER it to the Bash this year - prior engagement.

Would have loved to bring the 12-string along and join in!

Not that it matters, but I don't dig bingo.
