Wanted: lightweight ladies cycle
I'm looking for a lightweight aluminium ladies cycle to keep my knees and legs going for a bit longer! It would need a good selection of gears to help me and preferably not gripshift type as I find these hard to use.
Must be lightweight so I can lift in/out of bongo or trailer
Must have good selection of gears
Needs to be in decent condition although pristine is not necessary
Smaller than standard size frame preferred, as I'm a short**rse.
Anyone got one lurking in a shed?

I have a Dahon folder for sale.
I'll find exact model and such when I get home.
Very light weight, 3 speed grip change, but as it'so light I've found gears adequate.
16" Wheels, and of course you can look and try.

Am interested Bob although I was really looking for something with more gears. Would be pleased to be able to try it out on one of my jaunts in your direction!
If you let me know the bike details I can look up the details.

Just looked at similar Dahon bikes. Not what I'm looking for I'm afraid. I believe the 16" wheels make it harder and as I said, I really need more gears. Thanks for responding though.

At this price you can't go wrong http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/r ... 6cm-frames and wait until they have an offer on and you can't go wrong. I've got the mens version and it's been a great bike, not too heavy. Try one.

It's a myth that small wheels are harder to ride, they just need to be at the correct pressure.
I can fetch it to Stourport for a test run if you haven't found anything by then.

I had a women's lightweight Carrera from Halfords once, it was OK but not as nice as the one I replaced it with (a Claue Butler Urban 200). Similar kind of price if I recall correctly. I've not used mine for a couple of years and was planning to check it over at the weekend. If I decide I'm not likely to use it again, I'll let you know!

Foolish foolish man Ben. Jilly and Ruca, motivated, on a dark night, on a remote campsite. Ye Gods, it'd make Hound of the Baskervilles read like a kiddies story

Think I'll strap Ruca to the front and let him pull it like a chariot!
