I'm guessing this is one of the parts identical to the Ford Ranger?

After I purchased all the bits to rebuild our engine (head kit from club) and set about doing so, I found our no.4 cylinder had a huge 4" C shape crack in the wall  lucky I found it before fitting a new head to it, so we sourced a replacement short end from Jamie and wendy in Swindon (bongo specialist) who assured me it was only 140km, it seemed fine so went ahead and used it to replace ours... Despite the topend being new, it still sounds like a rattling old diesel, sounds fine once warmed up, but I don't like it... My own fault for cutting corners on the rebuild I admit.

Never thought of that Bob, thanks

Doesn’t sound like big ends they generally stay nosey all the time if the cam followers are manual adjustment might be worth checking

Just seen this thread, I need a set of B/E shells, the bottom end knocks like a b*gger at 3k rpm, I want to change them before there's any permanent damage/scored crank journals.

Does anyone have a part no. source please?

Thanks.
